Plinths

At Fiddes Fencing we provide high-quality aluminium plinths designed to complement modern fencing systems and provide both style and structural enhancement. Whether you’re pairing with aluminium slat fencing, a Colourbond® system or a mixed-material feature fence, our aluminium plinths bring a number of advantages:

A strong, low-maintenance base strip that visually anchors your fence and protects the panel ends from ground and moisture exposure.
Excellent durability in Perth’s conditions — aluminium won’t rust, splinter or degrade like timber plinths. Inspired by our aluminium fencing page, we know aluminium offers a dependable fence option with minimal upkeep.
A clean, modern finish that allows you to coordinate your colour-choice, profiles and overall fence aesthetic (drawing on design cues from our slat fencing offer).
Easy to combine with high quality Colourbond® panels — giving you the visual strength and finish of that system, with the added benefit of a defined aluminium base.

Features & Benefits

Robust material

Made from premium grade aluminium, powder-coated to your specified colour to match posts or panels.

Low maintenance

Unlike timber plinths, aluminium won’t warp, rot or require frequent repainting.

Enhanced aesthetics

The plinth provides a defined visual base, elevating the look of your fence line.

Improved durability

By raising the base of the panel slightly and shielding from direct ground contact, you reduce risk of corrosion, damp damage or debris build‐up.

Flexible design

Suitable for all fence heights, can be used along retaining walls, sloping sites or standard straight lines — the same flexibility we apply in our aluminium slat and Colourbond fencing systems.

When should you install an aluminium plinth?

When your property has uneven ground or sloping terrain and you want a clean transition between level and slope.
When the base of your fence is likely to encounter soil, mulch, irrigation spray or garden beds and you want an extra layer of protection.
When you are combining different fence panel materials (eg. aluminium slats over a solid base, or slats over Colourbond®) and want a visually defined separation.
When you desire a premium finish and architectural look — the plinth elevates the overall appearance.

Installation & Specifications

Fiddes Fencing sets out each plinth to site level, ensuring all panels sit firmly and evenly.
The plinth is factory powder-coated in the selected colour from our aluminium range (or matched to the Colourbond® palette when used in tandem).
We ensure correct clearance from ground, footings and any irrigation lines, and liaise with you about site preparation (e.g., ensuring vegetation or reticulation is clear).
Typical heights: the plinth can range from 100 mm up to 300 mm or more depending on site design and visual preference.
The plinth is secured into the same post/footing system as the fence panels, so it doesn’t compromise structural integrity—it becomes part of the overall system.

Maintenance & Care

Our aluminium plinths require very little maintenance — simply rinse off any dirt, mulch or spray residue at least once or twice a year.
Avoid using harsh cleaners or high-pressure water jets directly to the coating surface.
Keep surrounding vegetation trimmed so stormwater and mulch don’t accumulate along the base.
Inspect after major weather events for any debris build-up or minor impacts.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I couldn't be happier with this company and my new fence. Mine was an insurance job, and this company was very efficient, responded to emails very quickly and came out to inspect in no time. When I saw the fence installed, the layout was different to what was originally there, but I actually prefer what they have done! They have given me more space, the fence looks great and the team did a great job!
